In Chat, you can exchange Messages in Individual Chats and Group Chats. This article summarizes the permissions and feature specifications for Chat.

Overview

There are two types of Chat.

Individual Chat…One-on-one conversations
Group chat…Conversations with multiple people. You can set a Group Name and Icon

Specifications

Permissions to create a Chat

There are three levels of permissions for creating a New Chat.

Chat admin…Can create both direct and group chats
Individual Chat…Can create Individual Chats only
Group chat…Can create Group Chats only

Organization Restrictions

When you Enable organization restrictions in the Administrator features, Members from organizations other than the specified ones will no longer appear on the New Chat creation screen. Previously contacted members will also not be displayed, and new Messages can no longer be sent to Individual Chats that were already in progress.

For Group Chats, a separate operation is required to remove the affected members from the Group Chat.

Messages

Sent Messages can be edited or deleted
You can reply to Messages and add reactions (emoji)
You can check read status
Messages can be translated for display. You can also switch back to the original text
You can search Messages. Chat Room names are filtered as you type, and message search begins after entering 2 or more characters
You can send Files, images, and videos

Organizing Chat Rooms

You can Pin Chat Rooms to keep them at the top (on mobile, you can also do this by swiping right). You can Pin up to 10 rooms
You can hide rooms to remove them from the list. They can also be shown again
Chat Rooms that have at least one Message will be hidden rather than deleted. Rooms with no Messages will be deleted
You can turn notifications on or off for each room
