The view range is a setting that determines who can view which reports. Use "Basic Settings" to establish the overall policy, and adjust as needed with "Additional View Range" rules.
Specifications
Basic Settings
Choose from the following three options. The default value is "All Organizations."
- All Organizations…All users can view reports from all organizations
- Own and Descendant Organizations…Users can view reports from the organizations they belong to and their descendant organizations
- Own Organization Only…Users can only view reports within the organizations they belong to. Descendant organizations are not included
While "All Organizations" is selected, Additional View Range rules will not be applied. Additional View Range will also not be displayed on the settings screen. If you want to define the range in detail, set Basic Settings to "Own and Descendant Organizations" or "Own Organization Only."
Additional View Range
Add rules to Basic Settings to adjust the range. There are two types of rules.
- Grant…Expands the view range
- Restrict…Narrows the view range
Rules are retained for each Basic Settings configuration. When you switch Basic Settings, the applied rules also switch.
Grant (Expand view range)
Users who match the "Viewer conditions" will also be able to view reports for the "Destination conditions."
- Both viewer and destination conditions can be specified by organization, position, and employment type
- If multiple conditions are specified, users who satisfy all of them are targeted
- If no viewer conditions are specified, the rule applies to everyone
- If an organization is specified as the destination, you can select "Up to the target organization and its descendant organizations"
- If no destination conditions are specified at all, reports from all users will become viewable
Restrict (Narrow view range)
Narrows the view range for users who match the "Viewer conditions." Choose one of the following.
- Same position only…Among Members in the user's organization, only reports from those with the same position can be viewed
- Same employment type only…Among Members in the user's organization, only reports from those with the same employment type can be viewed
Users can always view their own reports. Users whose position or employment type has not been set will not match as targets of this restriction and therefore cannot be viewed.
Order of application
Rules are applied in the order of Basic Settings → Grant → Restrict, and Restrict takes priority. Even a range expanded by a Grant rule will be narrowed if it falls under a Restrict rule.
Administrators are also subject to view restrictions
View range settings apply even to administrators. If you need to view All reports, either set Basic Settings to "All Organizations" or grant the desired range through a Grant rule.
Permissions required for configuration
Configuring the view range requires one of the following permissions: Administrator, Report Administrator, or View Range.
Also applies to "Find People/Skills"
The view range applies not only to viewing reports but also to the Search For targets in "Find People/Skills." Reports from users who cannot be viewed will not be included in AI responses or recommendations.
